In 2019, the Jakeland Fire Dept. responded to a total of 30,530 runs. There were 283 working fires. Of the 283 fires, 91 were structure fires.

January 13, Midtown Pl 3rd Alarm
A space heater caused a deadly fire on Midtown Pl. This was the first major incident to occur in the city in 2019. Engines 6, 12, 9, 13, 7, 1, 4, 15, Tower Ladders 2, 4, 1, Ladder 3, Squads 3, 10, Rescue 1, Battalions 2, 1 and Deputy Chief 1 operated at the scene. Mutual Aid from Westbrick and Liberty County provided rehab. A Liberty County Thawing Unit also responded to the scene to assist with frozen hydrants and hoses.
February 24, Furniture World General Alarm
The first General Alarm fire occurred on Second Ave at the Furniture World Superstore. Every unit from the Jakeland FD operated at the scene. Mutual Aid from Rochelle Heights and Liberty County also assisted at the scene. Mutual Aid from Riverwoods, Lego Twp, Buena Vista, Portage, Brick Borough, Jackson Twp, Portage and Westbrick stood by at empty firehouses across the city.
April 13, Orchard Ave 2nd Alarm
A 2 Alarm house fire occurred on Orchard Ave. One firefighter was injured when the roof of the front porch collapsed. All units that operated at the scene were Engines 7, 9, 12, 6, 13, 4, Tower Ladders 4, 2, 1, Squad 3, Rescue 1, Battalions 2, 1 and Deputy 3.
May 9, Orchard Ave 2nd Alarm
In less than a month, a second fire occurred at the same residence on Orchard Ave. It would be determined that teenagers playing inside the abandoned home caused the fire. A 2nd Alarm would be needed to the scene. Engines 7, 9, 12, 6, 13, 4, Tower Ladders 4, 2, 1, Squad 3, Rescue 1, Battalions 2, 1 and Deputy 1 operated at the scene.
June 27, Jersey St 3rd Alarm
A gas explosion caused a 3rd Alarm fire to rage. A residence on Jersey St was reduced to rubble after the explosion. Four firefighters were treated at the scene for heat exhaustion. Engines 12, 9, 6, 7, 13, 15, 4, 1, Towers 2, 4, Tower 1, Ladder 3, Squads 3, 10, Rescue 1, Battalions 2, 1 and Deputy 4 operated at the scene. Mutual Aid from Liberty County, Riverwoods, Portage County, Rochelle Heights and Lego Regional Fire Authority was requested to stand by at firehouses across the city.
July 4, City of Jakeland Independence Day Parade
The Jakeland FD participated in the 2019 City of Jakeland Independence Day Parade.
July 30, First Ave 3rd Alarm
Firefighters battled a 3 Alarm fire at a 3 story apartment complex at 215 First Ave. Four firefighters were injured at the scene. Mutual Aid from Rochelle Heights, Lego Twp, Portage County, Brick Borough, Lego Regional FA, Westbrick and Liberty County covered the city during this incident.
August 4, Midtown Ave All Hands
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a fire that occurred at "Amy's Italian Cafe" on First Ave. Engines 6, 13, 12, 9, Towers 2, 4, Squad 3, Rescue 1, Battalion 2 and Deputy 1 operated at the scene.
October 30, Berry St 2nd Alarm
During the height of "Mischief Night", Jakelands Bravest battled a fire in an abandoned home on Berry St. Two Alarms would be needed to bring the blaze under control. Engines 13, 6, 12, 4, 15, 7, Tower Ladder 2, Tower Ladder 4, Ladder 7,
Squad 10, Battalion 2 and Deputy 3 operated at the scene. Rescue 3 from Lego Regional Fire Authority also operated at the scene to assist.
November 16, Lydia Ave General Alarm
A fire in an apartment complex on Lydia Ave in Downtown Jakeland would become the second General Alarm fire in 2019. A "Mayday" was called by trapped firefighters from Ladder 3. Thankfully firefighters were able to rescue their colleagues. Seven firefighters were injured at this incident. Every Jakeland FD unit operated at the scene. An air unit from Liberty County and rehab units from Liberty County and Westbrick also operated at the scene. Mutual Aid from Lego Regional, Liberty County, Rochelle Heights, Lego
Twp, Riverwoods, Portage, Jackson, Buena Vista, Westbrick, Brick
Borough, North Lereado and St Lego stood by at empty firehouses across
the city.
December 31, Concord Ave 2nd Alarm
Firefighters in the Jakeland Heights section battled a two alarm fire on Concord Ave. An under watered Christmas tree was the cause for the fire. One firefighter was injured after slipping on the icy pavement. Engines 7, 12, 9, 13, 15, 6, Tower Ladders 4, 2, 1, Squad 3, Rescue 1, Battalions 2, 1 and Deputy 4 operated at this incident. A rehab unit from the Liberty County FD also operated at the scene.
